I am sitting here at my beautiful sister’s house where I stayed during my film shoot in Kansas City. They had a lovely hotel for me, but staying in a home environment just felt…better. We had wonderful visits and reminisced about some great memories with friends and family. Annnnnnnnnd…she has a dog. A beautiful golden doodle named Stella.

Stella remembered me from my last visit and promptly took over the duty of guarding me and protecting me while I was in her company. It’s amazing how a dog knows right away that you love them. She adopted her place beside me on the couch, and if I was there, Stella was snuggled up close by my side.

Amazing how a little fur and cold nose bought comfort and peace and balance to me while away from home. We are forever pals. As I write this, she is snuggled here beside me, patiently waiting for a walk around the block.

She will never replace my Freedom, waiting for me in my office at home. But she has been a much-needed loving cousin in her absence, and has filled my heart with love. Thank God for doggies.

Blessings,
DEE
